Professional medical practitioner Dr. Sasha Stiles has served in a variety of positions throughout the course of her extensive career, including Coordinator for the Child Health Care Prepayment Plan for children of UCLA Students at the University of California, Los Angeles; Coordinator of HMO Planning at Stanford University, Medical Director of the Mahelona Medical Center in Kauai, Hawaii; Medical Director for Bariatric Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Northern California; and many others. Currently, Dr. Sasha Stiles works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the NYU Langone Weight Management Program, where she works to engineer advancements in bariatric surgery technology and research other solutions for overweight individuals. Prior to her work with New York University, Dr. Sasha Stiles served as the Medical Director of the Weight and Wellness Center at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, where she also taught as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Sasha Stiles earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology from the University of California, Los Angeles before earning both a Masters of Public Health in Administration and Planning from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. Since 2003, Dr. Sasha Stiles has served as Chair on the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery’s Bariatric Medicine Committee, as well as being a member. Additionally, Dr. Sasha Stiles has also been a member of The Obesity Society since 2003 and has served on its Bariatric Surgery Committee. Since 2007, Dr. Sasha Stiles has served as a member of the American Heart Association’s Obesity Committee. Dr. Sasha Stiles has contributed a variety of articles to various established medical journals, and currently reviews materials for the editorial board of Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, the Journal for the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
